iPhone 4G was first rumored to be released sometime this summer. But it seems that it’ll not be ready until Q2 2011 due to the 4G chip will only be shipped next year. And the rumor claims iPhone 4G is the “real 4G” that will include 4th generation communication such as LTE and WiMax.

According to MacVideo in their encounter with Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Lars Johnson from Beceem, a 4G chip called BCS5000, which is being developed by Beceem will only be shipped to manufacturers for mass production until Q2 of 2011. And iPhone 4G is likely adopting this 4G chip to provide the super high-speed of 4G connectivity.

This is of course good news for the iPhone users, with the capability of 4G connectivity, the iPhone 4G will be able to enjoy super high speeds of 4G between 100-150 Mbps. The upcoming Verizon HTC Incredible smart phone has got some photos and video leaked. The HTC Incredible is said to run Android 2.1 with HTC Sense. It’s powered by Snapdragon processor which was claimed to be “really fast”.

It’s another smartphone with some pictures leaked, although they’re blurry. The LG Arena Max LU9400 has attracted some attentions with its leaked pictures over the Internet but LG is still quiet about it.

From how it looks in the leaked picture, the LG Arena Max LU9400 has been emphasized with cute design elements that make it a charmer. It would come with a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display and sport WiFi, GPS capabilities and powered by the 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

No other further details yet about the specs and the image isn’t clear enough to show what OS it runs. No word on where and when it’ll be launched. The phone shows Cyon logo – LG’s Korean phone brand, which might hint it’d be launched in Korea only.

Samsung's got a new phone for divas everywhere. S5150 Olivia and the S7070. The Olivia has a 3 megapixel camera and a 2.2-inch LED screen, while the S7070 has a pretty outer covering that resembles the old comforter on your bed, and a diamond at the bottom of its faceplate. We told you that Motorola was prepping a new Android smart phone, called Shadow, but now many rumors claim the Motorola Shadow as the next generation of the Google Nexus phone, which could be called Google Nexus Two.

The Google Nexus One phone was built by HTC, but rumors say that Google could be partnering with another manufacturer for making the Nexus Two phone. The speculation was raised due to both Google and Motorola were at the same talk a week ago, where Google Executive, Andy Rubin, talked about the Nexus phone and Motorola talked about the importance of Android and the flagship devices.

The source says the iPhone 4G will come with dual-core CPU, which is the first time in smart phone industry and it’s likely be a new ARM Cortex A9 CPU under development.

The iPhone 4G also allows its battery to be removable, which has been the major complaint for the pass three generations of iPhone. With the flexible and removable battery, users will be able to use after-market batteries to extend usage time.

There will also be a front-facing camera dedicated for video calling, along with a high-performance main camera. KT expects the launch of the iPhone 4G to be in June 2010 and may plan to get their corporate clients to try out as early as in April.

Audiovox Zentral lets Bluetooth phones work as remote controls for your home

Audiovox has come up with a remote control hub, called Zentral, which allows Bluetooth-enabled phones to work as a remote control for various gadgets in your home. The Zentral receives signals from the smart phone via Bluetooth and translate the signals into IR commands to beam to your home entertainment (TV, stereo, home theater etc) and automation systems.

The Zentral is basically a little box equipped with Bluetooth receiver and IR transmitter that is powerful enough to bounce the IR signals off walls and ceilings. So, there is no problem at all how the Zentral is placed, it can just sit on top of any of your home entertainment equipment (As shown in the picture).

Currently, the Zentral comes with a universal remote control app for the iPhone, so you can use the iPhone to control various of your home entertainment and automation gadgets via the Zentral. There is also an application for the BlackBerry which allows the control of garage door opener.

The system plus the accessories all come in affordable prices such as the AV controller costs $80 and garage door opener costs only $50. More home automation gadgets will be included later such as lighting and thermostat. They will hit the stores in spring.

Mophie iPhone credit card scanner

Mophie, primarily known for their juice/battery packs or cases, has now taken a leap, planning to produce a credit card scanner for the iPhone. The picture above shows that the Mophie iPhone credit card reader will likely come in the form of a case which its bottom has a reader for you to swipe your customer’s credit card for accepting payment on the go.

The Mophie’s credit card scanner is a combo of hardware and their own software solution. The Mophie Credit card scanner is simply handy for small business owners, which you can use it on your iPhone to swipe the credit cards of your customers for collecting payments.

It’s unclear whether Mophie is getting into transaction business or they simply act as a middle man. But I guess the latter shall be the better choice for them as transaction business is not their cup of tea. More details shall emerge at CES.

Google Nexus One Phone gets official

As expected, Google Nexus One phone was officially announced on Jan 5 2010 in California. The Nexus One runs Android 2.1, comes with features including 3.7-inch 480 x 800 touchscreen, GPS, accelerometer, light, proximity sensor, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, and powered by the 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

The Nexus One phone is product of the close partnership between Google and HTC and Google has categorized it in the Superphones category. Android 2.1 on the Nexus one allows 5 home screens to be defined. The GPS capability also allows your to track location-aware weather information, which you can also create a widget of weather to place on the home screen.

Although it packs lots of goodies but unfortunately it lacks of multi-touch! Applications such as browser, maps, and other programs do not make use of multi touch on the Nexus One’s touchscreen. The answer from Google is “they’ll consider it in the future”.

RIM (Research In Motion) has launched their BlackBerry Presenter at CES, an accessory that is meant for your BlackBerry Smartphone to pair with,to have better and easier controls of your presentations.

The BlackBerry Presenter is to be connected to a display or a projector and pair with your BlackBerry smart phone via Bluetooth, to allow the BlackBerry in your hand to control the presentation in within the 30-feet effective range.

The BlackBerry Presenter is slim and portable, measures 3.4 x 2.4 x 0.9-inches and weighs only slightly more than a tenth of a kg (0.14 kg). As shown in the picture above, the device has a video port that needs either a VGA cable or S-Video cable to connect it to an external display or a projector. Windows Mobile 6.1 release on April Fools Day

Windows Mobile 6.1 OS has got itself with plenty of rumors floating around over the past few weeks. And now there seems to be a confirmation that this new mobile OS is making its way to the market on the April Fools day. Hope this is not another joke for the April Fools.

The Windows Mobile 6.1 won't be the full new version but it’s given with several improments over the current version 6.0. First to count is the very much improved browser, the Web explorer, such as copy and paste from IE and the zooming capability. Followed by the Vista-like UI , new fonts, a task manager like the desktop version, a WiFi indicator and threaded SMS program have also been included.

The picture shows a charging plate which users must place the mobiles on it for charging them wirelessly. Similar to electric toothbrushes, inductive power sends current obtained from a wall adapter through a coil in a charging unit. As current flows through the coil, it generates a magnetic field, which in turn induces a current to flow to the receiving coil in the toothbrush handle.

MWG will produce Windows mobile phones or PDAs that can be charged wirelessly by magnetic induction. And they target to ship the wirelessly chargeable devices by mid 08. Fundamentally, the technology used is similar to the two used in portable toothbrushes, provided by U.K.-based Splashpower.

Splashpower says its inductive charger can deliver up to 850mA of current, at up to 8.5 Volts. It’s got capability to detect the legitimate devices to keep away from misuse. And most importantly, it ain’t affect or erase any magnetic media, interfere with any equipments such as pacemakers. The inductive charger allows multiple devices to be charged on it at three times and gives short charging period.

An iPhone without the phone or it’s an iPhone clone?

iPhone is coming in to Asia market in 2008, there is no surprise that we’d see plenty of iPhone-clones coming up in Asia before iPhone launched in 2008. Well, the copycats phenomenon has become a norm in Asia market, China.

M8, the rumored product of Meizu, which looks much like an iPhone, but it was first reported having no mobile phone function, which was said as purely a MiniPlayer, the newer version of its M6. The M8 was first said to feature a 533MHz Samsung ARM processor, a 2.6-inch screen & loaded with the Windows CE OS.

This is something that we’ve seldom seen before , i.e an MP3 player with Windows CE loaded. Due its “imitation of design” of the iPhone, the touch-screen feature is difinitely a must.

According to Engadget, the post by a senior discussion-forum jockey on the Meizu site, the M8 is now said to measure in at a scant 57×105x11.5-mm & packs both a GSM & Chinese TD-SCDMA 3G radio, a 3.3-inch 720×480 pixel display, Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel camera, & an ARM11 CPU capable of recording video at 30fps at the device’s full 720 x 480 resolution. GSM, camera, Windows CE loaded? A smartphone? A PDA ? I guess it could be a change of direction by Meizu in to producing an iPhone clone in lieu of only an MP3 player due to the overwhelming buzz of iPhone. Will Apple take any action on this ?
